Rebecca Padgett has devoted over 18 years exclusively to private client law. Based in Porlock, near Minehead, Somerset, she advises individuals and families on wills, probate and estate administration, trusts, powers of attorney and deputyship. Her work often involves complex financial arrangements and sensitive family circumstances, requiring careful judgement and a measured approach.
While Rebecca’s qualifications and experience are extensive, clients most often comment on her approach. She is pragmatic and straightforward, taking time to explain complex matters in plain English. Her manner is calm and reassuring, particularly when dealing with sensitive or emotionally difficult situations.
Rebecca personally manages every matter she undertakes, ensuring work progresses efficiently and that clients are kept informed at each stage.
In her spare time, Rebecca enjoys walking, running and mountain biking, and is rarely without a book. Most of all, she values time with her family. She is married with two children and two Lancashire Heeler dogs.

Administration of estates of all sizes, including those involving inheritance tax, investment portfolios, business interests and overseas assets. Careful handling of complex family dynamics where required
Wills and Inheritance Tax Planning
Advising on inheritance tax exposure and drafting wills, including those incorporating trusts for vulnerable beneficiaries.
Lasting Power of Attorney
Advising on and preparing powers of attorney for both property and financial affairs and health and welfare.
Trusts
Creation of trusts within wills and lifetime trusts, including those for disabled or vulnerable beneficiaries. Advising on asset protection structures and the administration or winding up of existing trusts.
Deputyship and Court of Protection
Advising on deputyship applications and preparing applications to the Court of Protection where capacity has been lost without lasting power of attorney.
